Jim Gallas, CMT, CHT is a certified yoga instructor, Qigong and shiatsu teacher, and certified hypnotherapist. He has been leading mindful, movement-based workshops since 1992, inviting students into practices that cultivate awareness, ease, and resilience.
Jim teaches regularly at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur and spends his winters in Sayulita, where he helped found the Haramara Healing Center. His teaching has reached a wide range of communities—seniors, children, high-risk teens, the chronically ill, the deeply healthy, tech leaders, and villagers around the world.
His work blends yoga, Qigong, bodywork, and expressive movement in an approach that’s intuitive, embodied, and shaped by decades of experience.
Beyond teaching, Jim is developing a series of instructional videos, performs with a theater improv troupe, is a published photographer, and once owned a thriving vegetarian restaurant in New Zealand.
